Editorial Review:
In the last and most dangerous adventure in the Pertwee years, what begins as innocuous research into ESP turns into a deadly mind battle, with the terrifying spiders from the planet Metebelis Three pitted against The Doctor, his friends and Time Lord K'Anpo.

Summary: Planet Of The Spiders
Comment: Every time I watch this one, it starts off superb but then by episode four it starts to collapse. Patrly because the Metebelis Three people are so stupid and can't act. There are mostly good speical effects all along, and the regeneration is fairly standard, but female spiders?

Summary: Doctor Who The re-birth of a legend
Comment: For many of us Jon Pertwee's incarnation of the Doctor took the series in a new direction, with his Tardis license revoked by the Time Lords, he hardly ever left the earth. Whilst this made entertaining viewing and meant that UNIT and the Bridadier would be part of the series, many of us longed for the space and time adventures of old. In this his final appearance as the 'dandy' Doctor, Pertwee does get to travel thorugh time and space, he faces a race of intelligent spiders in order to free a world of humans from slavery, ultimately losing his life in the process.

This story is remarkable, for many reasons, mainly that it proves how good Pertwe was in the role and proves yet again that a series can go from strength to strength when the lead character returns with a new face, mannerisms and quirky demeanor.

For any new Who fan that is getting interested by the new series I reccomend reviewing titles like this to get a feel for the series and for any fans who don't already own this, get your credit card out and buy it. You won't be sorry.
