Back home safe and car still drivable
A very special thanks to Anne, Bob & Tony for all the planning and organisation and for the bravery in bringing together such a bunch of characters. Meeting up each year just gets better and better.
First job.....order a new number plate.
Second job...give the car a wash

Re: Highland Drive 2017 chat
Firstly a big shout out to Peter, Ann, Tony and Bob to say thank you for organising everything! My apologies I didn't get to actually thank you in person before you left yesterday, I got a bit distracted in Pitlockery before heading back having got bored of the A9 and you had made tracks home by to time I got to Broaden Junction
Secondly a big thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome, great group of people made the trip Absolutely loved it up there and will definitely be coming back again. For once the hype didn't actually live up to my expectations, it was in fact better than I could have imagined!
With my 6am start I managed to breeze down South missing all traffic by some miracle meaning I did the 464 miles even faster than google suggested in 6 hours and 58 minutes including two quick stops leaving me all afternoon to unpack and chill.
I've downloaded some photos and will try and sort them and upload some copies over the next week or so time permitting.
I hope everyone got home safe

Re: Highland Drive 2017 chat
Just got the the car back, so we are all back home now.
Big thanks to Peter, Ann and Bob for all the organisation that goes into this event, year on year.
Special thanks to Vinny and Steve for trying to keep me on the road.
Three cars, loads of extra miles all went into making this years Highland drive a little different this year, but worth every second of it.
Proud of our little Peugeot for keeping up, far better than I ever imagined it would.

Re: Highland Drive 2017 chat
Landed back at base about an hour ago. Haven't worked my fuel consumption yet.
Unpacked and relaxing with a single malt instead.
Great to see some new faces this year along with the usual suspects!
Big shout out to:
Ann & Bob, accomodation wizards extraordinaire: sorry I reached Broxden too late to say goodbye.
Peter, route guru and leader: thanks for allowing me to duck out of leading on Sunday.
Wedge: for the customary unscheduled break for a strip down session!
Pete and Chris: for the jury rig on my wonky headlight (it's working fine atm btw)
Nic, Steve, and Stewart for a great blat through the Borders and over the Northumberland fells.
My apologies for the lack of a stop to put your hoods up. That hailstorm was something else!
An especial mention to Steve for sorting out T2 when it had a hissy fit in Kielder.
And the phone-in clinic when it repeated the trick just before I reached my sister's place.
Just managed to limp off the M180 before it decided enough was enough.
It's definitely a bad weather issue as both times it happened after a period of torrential rain.
Didn't miss a beat on the way home today.
Will post up my pics when I have had a chance to download them. In the meantime, if anyone wants hi-res jpeg files of their car, PM me your e-mail addy and I'll forward them as attachments.

Re: Highland Drive 2017 chat
Thank you for letting me tag on! I was a sight to behold seeing so many MR2's driving together I knew something was up
How was the Monday drive? I saw some pictures on Facebook and it didn't half snow down! It was sunny down in dumfries all day
Also do you share the route that you took on the drive? I am interested showing some of my friends. The scenery was so good I want to go back and stop off more places.
