Anyone in the Witham/Braintree area with some garage space

Post by Essex2Visuvesi » 16/04/17 17:24

Have many things to do on the MR2 and am struggling to work from on my driveway as its gravel.

If somoene has some space and would like to give me a hand it would be appreciated.
Have many tools and things which I'm happy to supply along with enthusiasm and bacon/pizza/beer (delete as appropriate)

When you say refresh are you looking to straight swap parts out or do you need to remove and overhaul parts?
What parts of the suspension are you looking at changing\refreshing.
If you have all new\refurbed struts and drop links these can be changed in a few hours.
I have the space if your able to get over to Stansted but wouldn't be able to leave the car stranded if your looking to refurb parts as opposed to just swapping them out.

Its a case of parts off
New parts on

Parts to replace:-
Droplinks
Shocks & Springs (Have whole units ready to fit)
Discs and Pads
I'm going to try and do the alternator myself as the car can't be driven at the moment

By the way
This is a MK3 MR2

Would it be easier to lay a couple of sheets of plywood over your driveway to work on your car.

I'm in bury st edmunds with a bit of a push you could get most of that done in a weekend, one does the front the other take the rear.

I've never worked on a mk3 I'm more of a mk1 /mk2 person

As long as somone has a grinder for the drop links should take too long.
Easy days work for 2.

Cheers for the offers guys, I'll keep you posted!
Stansted would be the best for me as it's a bit closer
I'm hoping that I can get the alternator replaced in the next day or so, means then it will be drivable rather than needing a trailer
(alternator had seized solid meaning that I can run the car but only for short periods as no water pump
