New Mr2!

Hi all
Would like to introduce myself and my car!
My name is Lewis, can be found around the Surrey and Hants area.
Having sold my pre-face Civic type R EP3, I Picked up my 97 Rev 3 in silver with Black top a couple of weekends back.
All good fun so far,Had my first "incident" this morning, which was good.
Came over the brow of a hill into a sharp left hand turn, the front went light and combination of a little to much power and a slightly damp road resulted in me just about catching the slide, but over correcting and smashing my off side rear wheel streight into a Kerb. Nice.
No major damage as far as I can tell, apart from a quite badly scuffed alloy.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to look for or if I should get it checked out just to be on the safe side?
Also, im getting an intermittant steering "wobble" at 70mph, I would have thought this was a warped disk as the offside front alloy is getting very hot, however as its intermittant im wondering if its a combination of a warped disk and sticky caliper, or just one of the above?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know all of you and my new Mr Two!
Any help, let me know
Cheers
Lewis

Welcome to the club mate, what tyres are on the car wheel wobble is probably due to an unbalanced wheel. If one of the discs is hot that is due either to sticky slider pins or the caliper has seized, its quite a common thing to go on the MR2.In the past year i have replaced both rear calipers and around 3 weeks ago one of my front ones decided to seize up so replaced that aswell as the slider pins all good now.

Hi mate, thanks
Will get my fronts balanced this weekend, would a Caliper re-furb kit do the job?
Any should I be too worried about the rear after battering it this morning, anything i should keep my eye on?

welcome aboard mate, +! on what topgun say's, take your car to any garage that offers tyre changes and ask them to balance your wheels, only takes 5 mins to add a couple of weights to get it running smoothly
sounds like you own a sonic shadow...very nice, get some pics up for us all

depending on how hard you hit the curb you could cause damage to the suspension arm. Best to get it checked out. If the wheel wobble started after you made contact with the wheel then it could be causing it as well.
+1 on the sticky calipers - I replaced two last week

Hello and welcome to the club!
hope you get the car sorted with little probs,
sticky calipers are an issue, replace with new as said above is the best bet
check out the 'events' for meets/events in your area
btw celica is different stud pattern to mr2
