Fuel sender resistance!
I've just built myself a custom instrument cluster and all that's left is hooking up my digital fuel gauge to the OEM sender, does anyone know off the top of their head the full/empty resistance of the factory sender?
Cheers All
Marc

Hi marc, i am in the middle of a full digital dash install myself on the Mr8, have you got more details on the digi fuel gauge? been looking for one for ages and that would complete my set up.
I can measure the empty/full resistances tomorrow for you, i have a sender at the garage i can play with

Ah i see, i have digital oil pressure, oil temp, batt voltage, coolant temp, afr (wideband),digital rpm. Here is an early development prototype of mine, i have since removed the stock speedo and the two middle digital gauges and installed a KOSO rx2n+ unit, so the wideband/afr will fit in there too.
Only thing left is the digi fuel gauge but the KOSO has functions for that if i want, it would just be nice to have all of the gauges the same.
It took me a week to get this far but it didn't look right with the one big analogue dial still there...

Here is a Youtube vid showing someone elses KOSO unit on their bike.

i love the process of trouble shooting and getting it to work, just adds to the sense of achievement

it's much tamer in the real world,
a 4yr old camera phone doesn't really do it justice
i'm working on a way of dimming the blue when the main lights go on

Did you have any luck measuring this?
I've discovered my fuel gauge only has 3 options of resistance so it's doubtful it has catered for a 17yr old import!
I can choose from 100ohm, 250ohm and 500ohm (empty or full)
think i'm going to put a Jerrycan of fuel in the boot untill i can find a compatible sender or a very cunning circuit

seems a bit daft you cant calibrate an empty resistance then fill it up and calibrate full,
oh well the project continues
