engine swap import to uk spec issue

Post by Leztec » 19/06/17 10:23

i did my big ends in on my import and out desperation i used a uk spec for a donor engine both na rev1 . but now i have all the warning lights on my dash . engine runs fine and donor car didn't show any warning lights before i removed the engine .

is this due to a difference in the looms? if so how can i fix this issue ?

thanks

Im sure uk and jap looms are different. Could u not use the original loom and new engine?

As the UK rev1 engine has a potentiometer instead of the lambda the import has I am wondering which engine loom you have used?

Yeah I was desperate for that £160 and tried to rob you. If it wasn't for those ghastly kids.

There is also the added headache that early Japanese Rev 1s had no lambda or potentiometer.

thanks guys have recently found out its a loom issue. took it to a garage after throwing my toys out the pram with it. the donor engine loom has become brittle and during the removal and refitting process with the movement of the wires they have snapped inside the loom . so i will be removing the loom off the old engine and be fitting that when i get a chance .
