Sale of my 1998 3.0 V6 powered MR2 Rev 5. I personally converted the car over 6 months between August 2017 and February 2018. This can be viewed on my build thread on TWOBRUTAL (http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?24441-Home-Project-1MZ-FE-VVTi-Conversion). Access to all build photographs can be made available to prospective buyers online via Google Photos. The car has been running on the road for the 15 months and has covered only 2,000 miles since conversion. The engine is a 1MZ-FE VVTi and came from a Lexus RX300 that had covered only 86K miles with a good Lexus service history. Engine was refurbished down to head gaskets. The base MR2 has covered £102k miles and had a full Toyota service history to 99K miles. The gearbox has had the Woodsport 5th gear conversion. The MR2 itself was fully stripped down and has had nearly all of the running gear replaced with new stuff. Bodywork is solid as are the sills which were fully repaired by previous owner (photographic evidence is available covering all work done). Car was fully under sealed at the time of conversion and had a spray of waxoil. T-Bar seals are leak free. Both sunshades are present as are the T-Bar storage bags. Interior is leather and is in very good condition with no rips to the driver’s seat bolster. Oil and filter change has been done each year since conversion. MOT until Feb 2020. The car was tested on a rolling road with the engine delivering 225 BHP (graphs available to view to confirm on request).
Modifications and parts replaced on the car are detailed below:
BC BR Series Coilovers
Goodridge Performance Brake Hoses
New Toyota Discs
New Toyota Brake Pads
Genesis Volt 17” Black Wheels (ET35) – 7J front and 8J rear
Toyo Proxes T1R tyres, front 215/40 and rear 235/40. Covered only 4,000 miles
Full set of new drop links
New Front and Rear lower ball joints
New Track Rod Ends
New offside inner track rod end
Refurbished Front Calipers
All the brake dust covers were replaced with new
JVC KW-M730BT Head Unit
Custom Exhaust professionally made by JP Exhausts
The car has been fully restored and is in full working order. As you will appreciate a car of this standard and spec has had a considerable amount spent of which I appreciate I’m not going to recover that amount. So, the car is for sale at £6,000 which is the insurance company agreed valuation. Usual private sale rules apply, sold as seen, no warranty and release of keys will not take place until funds are bank transferred and available to see in my account.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss the car in more detail…..
