2.0L NA times are normally in the mid 15's mid 17's check out my vids in the other thread...there are some tubbies in there as well and dare I say it not always quicker than me....bad launches probably!!

Bob
I think i've seen a 2L N/A run quicker than me today in the past

Having a few issues though

Ian and Bob's V6's were running similar times to the stock tubbies though today.

don't turn this into tubby vs V6- that would be boring lol, just do a search for nick's topic...

i ran a 16.3, in my sound systemd, standard engined NA full of show luggage with a headwind! was chuffed to bits. i also don't mind admitting it's the first time i've ever ran up the strip and i managed to just about boil my clutch on my first run, bogged down on my second, and then on the third launched too slowly- i could have probably pulled off quicker from a set of lights on the road, but was scared of the clutch having my life again.

kiz what was up with your car?

ive had a 13.61 in my rev2 tubby running around 230-240bhp (not dynoed at the time) i'm confident I could get that to a very low 13 now with 265bhp.

on nankangs with pressure dropped and slipclutching

went down with Shahid for the Sunday. Wasn't allowed through into the main bit, so had to park up in a field. tried saying hello to a load of mr2'ers standing by their cars in camping area alongside the road "hi i'm spla...", got blanked (people actually turning away as i spoke) , didn't push it, i know how people can get when soaked through.

met up with Shahid again inside, met the TBDev lot, they were dry and not grumpy, rich sorted me out a stand pass (superstar !!! i was quite happy even in the rain, there was some awesome jap muscle in the stands), but that made me even happier, just managed to get the car off the grass ! another hour and i'd of been waiting for a 4x4.)

waited 'til about 2 to see if it cleared up. seemed to be stopping raining when we got a few miles out, but i figure they'd still of had to work flat out until closing time drying the track out (if it didn't start raining again).

drive there wasn't fun (don't like driving in the dark and heavy rain - very little traffic though hehe), drive back was nice though, as it cleared up and was sunny most of the way home.

had a bacon roll from one of the stands, ate about 2 bites before binning it - don't know if it was barely cooked or just soaked through. either way i wasn't taking the chance LOL

A lot of people were mentioning the wind as a factor on Saturdays times, figure that's why everybodys times seem a bit slow.

Bloody hell mate getting ignored is a bit off, not usually the OC style either so a bit confused.

Wish I'd seen ya down there bud as I'd love to see your motor in the metal.

thats why ive given up on car meets dude . the last 2 owners club were like that. one or 2 were happy to talk or say hello. but everyone else just didnt say anything and went off to talk to other people they knew. its annyoing when your trying to make a conversation about whatever and people are not interested. when i was on the colt forum i went down to the to colt fest which was just basicly camping for colt owners nothing more. the group of about 10 people who think they run the show because they are mods or have got their heads up their ass becuase they know so much about their car and have been on the forum longer than anyone else all stick together and arent welcoming for any one thats new . im glad i took my friend there ....im sure this forum is differnt but past experiences have put me off the last few years :( :(............ow yer strip times

The best I could do with that headwind was:-

Reaction .5828
60ft 2.2560
330ft 6.1685
1/8 ET 9.4882
1/8 MPH 74.51
1000ft 12.2896
1/4 ET 14.8089
1/4 MPH 92.34

Other times - 14.8124/ 14.8258/ 15.2555 ( missed third gear on this one)

Would have liked a low 14, so I think I might need to open the wallet again.

Hope for less wind, lighter car and more power next time.

looking forward to next year, now that the first time nerves are over.

I think it is.
You could always come along to the Kent Run on 19th and see for yourself.

As with any group of people some are more outgoing than others. We won't bite......
Reckon splashnatz was just unlucky. Mind you if approached by this I might be a bit wary myself......

My air filter didn't have it's cold air feed kit and consequently the small opening on the Viper was pointing straight at the rear firewall - strangled the car a bit over 50mph

Need to get some goodies sorted for next time :th:

Mmm - Laughing Gas or SS Manifolds?
