Japshow 2016 Planning Thread

Morning people :th:

So the tickets have now arrived with me and are going ot be winging their way to you all this week. This leaves nothing left but the planning :yh:

Now, as usual, we'll be having the usual chilli challenge on the Saturday night and I have some goodies for you all to sample from a decidedly fiesty ginger beer to some potent chilli sausages (I've now ordered the last of the ingredients for these). We also have a selection of hat sauces, some bizarre sounding popping candy and whatever else happens to arrive on the day.

Every year, we do a communal BBQ and this year is no different. With a number of disposable BBQ's laid out, food is just placed on for all to share. I have a number of things to bring along already (not fire related) but if anyone else wants to chip in, feel free :th:

So what else are we likely to be up to on the Saturday? I welcome any ideas :th:

If there are any late entries, I have a couple of stand passes free. Tickets can be bought on the gate. These can be collected from me on the Saturday (it's really difficult to get them to people on the Sunday)

Sorry, on an additional note, I'll be there on site for 8am. I know for a fact that it's busy this year so camping is likely to be manic.

By getting there for 8am, I can grab us a good spot and get the gazebo up. On the down side, I don't have the sails this year (and haven't got time to go get them) so I'll have to post on here the location of manage to grab us on the field.

I'll also have my aerobee in the car, maybe I'll try and get a football as well so we can have a kick about (I'm cack but it's good for a laugh). I'm open to any other ideas though guys :th:

Haha, nearly had an epic fail..... Suddenly remembered I don't have a tent! I ripped the groundsheet out of mine by accident at JAE last year.

Just ordered one on fast and free from eBay so it should arrive in time. Lucky escape there!

See? Too busy organising bits, I nearly ended up with nowhere to sleep :laughing

That's a point, I don't actually remember if I aired mine out after it's last usage as it got wet... Better check that tonight!

Gaz, that would be helpful. :th: I'll have a gazebo in the car that I'll get up for shelter as well as all the usual. If someone could pick up a few disposable bbqs, that'll be useful. I'll grab a couple when I stock up on Friday but they don't really last that long

Why do I get the impression this weekend is going to be messy in more than one way? :laughing

That reminds me actually, I need to get my keg cooler in the freezer. I've got a 5l keg of my own recipe ale to bring. And no, it's not full of chilli, it's just a regular ale :laughing

Really starting to get a buzz about it now. Should be a great laugh (if my eBay purchases arrive in time)

Need some volunteers to bring a few disposable bbqs. I'm going to grab a couple but I think we'll need another 4-6 between us. These things really don't last long :no:
