Auto Conversions - V6 into MK2

3VZ or 1MZ Auto into mk2 Auto

In addition to the engine specific lists above, for the Auto transmission you will need;
(obviously, you will not need any manual transmission parts)

-3VZ/1MZ Auto Gearbox with complete loom
-Camry Torque Converter
-Camry Starter gearwheel
-Camry Starter Motor
-d-peg's special gearbox mounting bracket patterns to fab your own
-1/4" bsp blanking plug x2 (to eliminate oil feed for Camry cooling fan)
-Camry Axle Carrier bearing (remove engine mount portion)
-Camry driveshafts - inner tulip / 6-bolt flange part only
-Camry driveshaft tulip bolts x12
-MR2 Turbo driveshafts -not including inner tulip
-MR2 Turbo rear hubs
-MR2 Turbo axle lock nuts
-MR2 Auto transmission selector lever arm on gearbox
-d-peg' special transmission selector bracket pattern to fab your own

Important!
The gearbox is about 10mm too wide to fit. You will need to lift the N/S gearbox mounting bracket on the chassis by 30mm along with making the chassis 20mm wider minimum.

Rev2 N/A to 2GRFE 3.5 V6

Engine
- Complete head and block (engine with all sensors basically)****
- Intake manifold
- Throttle Body
- Alternator
- Aux Belt 6PK-1462 (no air con)
- RAV4 airbox & MAF sensor*
- 80mm Air Hose (to connect air box)
- d-peg engine mount
- modified coolant neck (for coolant top-up point)
(best source for the engine parts is USA)

Exhaust
- d-peg v-band exhaust manifold set
- Oxygen sensor x2 89467-0R010
- manifold gasket x2
- rear silencer of your choosing
- custom made mid-pipe (with or without catalytic converter)

Transmission
- Mk2 Turbo gearbox
- Mk2 Turbo driveshafts
- Mk2 Turbo rear hubs
- Mk2 Turbo clutch assembly
- Mk2 turbo clutch slave cylinder (required to remove part of engine block to miss slave)
- Mk2 Turbo gear selector cables
- Mk2 turbo flywheel (bolt-holes machined to suit 2GR crank pcd)
- Modified axle carrier (machine 6mm off face and weld plate to match 2GR bolt holes)
(it is suggested that the conversion can be done with the NA S54 gearbox but that would not

Electrical
- Complete and uncut 2GR engine loom***
- 2GR ECU*
- 2005 Avensis DBW throttle pedal with connector.
- 6 core shielded cable for throttle pedal (approx 4.5m)
- OBD-II port

Miscellaneous.
- Mk2 Turbo fuel pump or Walbro 255 lph unit
- Mk2 Turbo torque mounts (front rear)
or
- Mk2 NA polybushed torque mounts (front rear)

Fluids
- Engine oil and filter
- Gearbox oil
- Forlife coolant

Recommended extras
- depending on engine age, large service items (ie timing chain, water pump, oil pump)

* It is possible to use and aftermarket MAF pipe and air filter but has been reported that it causes poor fuelling. As an option to the RAV4 air box, there are several offerings from (2GR based) Lotus' that also work just as well.

** ECU is dependent upon engine and 95% of them are immobilised. Which means, when you come to start your project it will not fire because the ECU is still locked to the donor car. There are services available to 'unlock' the ECU.

*** Engine loom and wiring is a tricky one. There are several in the UK that have now done it and the documents are all open source and readily available. Linking in with the ECU immobiliser issue, later engines (post 2011) are wired up completely differently. If you go for a later engine onto your hacked ECU, you'll need to re-pin a lot of the ECU loom connector.

**** Early engines had a lot of trouble with the VVTi oil lines failing. If you're putting a known good pre 2011 engine in your MR2 hoon-wagon I would STRONGLY advise changing these lines for the post 2011 versions.
