UK Rev5 NA to Gen3 Turbo

Post by SonicSW20 »

Job for the weekend...

I'm sure I can figure it out as the pinouts are written on the board and I have the 3rd gen 3SGTE engine manual with the ECU pin out guide etc in there. However if anyone on here has done this before and has the relevant info to hand that would be awesome and will save me a bit of time!

I want to do this using the UK Rev5 body loom (one that goes down the pass side) - I have the loom from the donor car but it has been 'modified' for fitment of an aftermarket alarm and as such it's a bit of a mess in places.

In any case, I'll try to remember to document the wiring bit as I've not seen any Rev5 specific guides for doing it this way.

Good that it went smoothly, :th: perhaps if you have time at some stage, you could write it up for KY2?

I'll have to go back in and take some photos. If someone can provide a good photo of an unaltered Rev5 22pin body loom plug that would be a help as I didn't take a photo of it beforehand. The only thing that's not obvious is the FC pin from the Rev3 Turbo ECU. It doesn't exist on the Rev5 passenger loom to the ECU, you have to run it separately from the fuse box to the ECU. Looking for an unused wire on mine I can borrow to neaten that up, as my car doesn't have AC I may be able to take one of the AC wires and use that instead.

Yeah, there's two wires for AC available by the looks of it. Any idea where that comes out on the other side - does it go through the engine bay fuse box?

Hi @SonicSW20 did you ever get round to doing a Pin out for the Rev5?

I'm in the middle of the same conversion now and trying to sort some niggles, I don't have the Rev5 ECU so I'm just looking for a diagram or even a picture from the inside of the Rev5 ECU.

Thanks mate, I have put the ECU Pin out into a google doc as I thought it may help someone in future.

I'll try add what I'm changing to the sheet as I go.
