I have to say a massive self catering house would be warmer

My mum found a castle that could be rented….

(please excuse me Stripey - I didn't want to take the top post away from you without asking first as it was primarily your idea )

Rough Outline
- 3 night break after Xmas (would be extremely difficult to organise before) to take away the winter blues.
- Luxury rented house type event
- Budget £50 per night per person for your room - double rooms so will be for two people
- Central location (Cotswolds most likely)
- Day out driving (possibly 2 driving days)
- Activity day (Go Ape or similar)
- Provide our own food (be it communal or take-away or similar)

This could be good! 20 odd people in a self catering house for a long weekend with camping for those that want it.

An old mate from Uni does this every year with 15 other friends and it's not too expensive per head. Warmth and toilets! And they got a swimming pool and games room too!

I was saying about maybe a meet at the Haynes museum. With stays at a local travel lodge. Could make a weekend of it with a bit of a drive and a meal thrown in?

I'll speak to my mum and see if she can remember where she found that one. It worked out a decent price per head.

A large place split between a lot of us wouldn't be too bad cost wise, it'd be warm and they do usually have things like swimming pools, games rooms and hot tubs

I think so dude, JAE and camping is fun, but I really like warmth, good food, good company and a short walk to the toilet when with you lot and don't mind paying extra for it! Jacuzzis and Saunas are a bonus as is a pool table to show you all how to play

I think self catering is a good option. We can all cook (in theory) although I won't ever trust Henry to make me food after seeing him and his cooking at JAE :'( if we don't hear from him the food poisoning finally got to him.

No point paying extra for places like centerparcs as think a large house would give us all we need and we can all stay in the same place (is that a good thing lol)

I agree on no Travelodge, don't want any of those pesky cameras in the showers!
