I agree, but the end of which month? If it's September, a 3 day deadline is pretty tight. Of your three parameters (who/where/when), until I know the when, I'm unable to say whether or not I will be able to stump up a deposit. I don't know if anyone else is in the same boat.Howlin_Mad wrote:OK, sorry to be nagging but we need to sort this ASAP as these type of places get booked up for weddings and corporate days at the drop of a hat. We need to establish who is going and which venue to book and the weekend pretty damn quick. I'd suggest the end of the month with people committing deposits.

No chance of a deposit from me til next month. Also, that's a far too tight for people to get involved in general. Some people don't check for forum daily!

Well if not September, we need to plan a cut off time as if you have looked at Nadias links the bookings available are becoming thin on the ground pretty fast.TonyleFrog wrote:I agree, but the end of which month? If it's a deposit it's only 3 tanks of fuel for the whole stay accommodation? Do people not have this cash readily available? Food and fuel will be a cost that can be staggered after Christmas...

Would the last weekend of February be too early?

No booking and deposits would have to be this year and soon once we've worked out dates.Howlin_Mad wrote:For booking and deposits?Stripey wrote:Would the last weekend of February be too early?

I meant as doable dates?

Point taken.Howlin_Mad wrote:Well if not September, we need to plan a cut off time as if you have looked at Nadias links the bookings available are becoming thin on the ground pretty fast.
Only!Howlin_Mad wrote:If it's a deposit it's only 3 tanks of fuel for the whole stay accommodation? Do people not have this cash readily available? Food and fuel will be a cost that can be staggered after Christmas...

I fill up one tank at a time. Plus the cost will be in addition to my normal expenditure.
Also I have a son and daughter both of whose birthdays are close together between Christmas and when this event is most likely to happen...
Not only that but, as I have already explained, I am committed to the Highland Drive which as you will know from having taken part this year is not exactly something you can pay for with the loose change in your pocket!
That's why the date chosen makes a big difference for me, whereas it might not for others.
Once the date is known then I will be in a position to say whether I can also commit to this event too. I would like to take part but it may prove to be a stretch too far.
Not for me. My votes were for 26-29 Feb and 4-7 March. However, the poll majority so far is for the next two weekends after that. The fact is somebody needs to make an executive decision on which weekend to pick and kick start the process otherwise we'll be going round in circles for weeks.Stripey wrote:Would the last weekend of February be too early?

Re: Luxury Weekend Break 2016
Date chosen is pretty big for me it's a huge struggle to get time off in my job, basically have to book it exactly a year Before. The 26-29th would be perfect for me.

Re: Luxury Weekend Break 2016
The specific date isn't too much of a concern for me, however weather / early morning temperatures at that time of year are. Don't really want to be going for an early morning drive to avoid traffic when road temperatures are approaching zero celsius or even going below it.

Re: Luxury Weekend Break 2016
I've had a vote on my preferred days but I won't be able to commit fully until the date is chosen
Stripey I think you should chose whatever date suits you best as you are probably the most restricted with your time off and all of this was your idea
I'd pick a date, see how it goes down and go from there
happy to help you with organising if you want as I get plenty of down time at work
