Guess what? I am having typical cold start issue. High revs for first few mins (2000 rpm) then dropping off, occasionally so low engine stalls. I am assuming this is a waxstat issue...
Does anyone know where I can get a new or reconditioned unit? Or is there a way of repairing what's there?
Cheers

Re: Waxstat
Apart from the stalling it sounds perfectly normal, just open your idle air bleed screw a little when hot.
For all other waxstat issues my manual choke conversion is the ultimate answer, invented 15 years ago and sold hundreds, but i don't think you need one.

Thanks Paul. I'm a bit OCD about keeping my cars standard. Thinking about putting original stereo back in! but hopefully can sort it without the need for any mods. Think I will fit the choke conv if need be.
Thanks for help,
Jon

Re: Waxstat
Hi Jon, just try turning the air bleed a half turn or so anti-clockwise, that will raise the hot idle.
