Yes I'll try again, I think I may have been putting the jump lead in the diagnostic port before I turned the key rather than after as stated in the link you provided. Just to clarify when it says accessory switches does that mean lights etc or the accessory position of the key for just having the radio on?

Still no luck with diagnostic engine light, I've ordered another ECU from Neil Jones so I'll let you all know how I get on with that.

New ECU fitted and she runs perfectly ! Thanks for all your help everybody, now to buy her some fresh petrol!
