Will mk2 fuel tank fit in an mk1?

Post by Calabia »

Hi all!
I am new in this Forum, so hi to everyone!

I just got an MR2 MK1 from a museum, and I am trying to get it running. the first issue is that the fuel pump, sender and tank are very rusty.

I have found a cheap & nice condition MK2 fuel tank, I was wondering if it would nicely fit in my MK1. The seller says that tank came from an MK1, but I just want to double check with you guys.

Thanks!!!

I doubt it'll be a straight forward swap as the mk2 tank is bigger. There are a few mk1 breakers if you need parts. Search on Facebook for paul sims or Neil jones either of them should be able to help
