MK1 Side exit exhaust idea

Post by mikejamesmk1 »

I had an idea of replacing my stock and rather rusty exhaust system with a side exit system, I have done some research however cannot find anything on the subject for a MK1, I haven't progressed into anything like measuring or designing or anything as I would like to hear from the community to see if it would be possible and how much work it would take. I appreciate any help you could give me, thanks!

You don't have the space or ground clearance to fit a silencer anywhere other than where it is, to have a side exit where the silencer is would mean going under the rear wing behind the rear wheel which would then create ground clearance issues
This is the kind of space/clearance your looking at

Ohh okay, thank you for letting me know about the clearance issue and I'll definitely stay with my current exhaust
