Water bypass pipe

Post by 1000PR »

Is it possible to replace the lower small diameter water bypass pipe without removing the entire inlet manifold? Mine has rusted through and is leaking just after the join to the rubber pipe. Thanks.

Ah yes thanks, that’s a great picture I couldn’t find anywhere else. So it’s actually the upper pipe, the smaller one which I need to replace. I’ve already bought one off Neil Jones but just checking how much work is required to fit it 😐

You probably got robbed if you bought it from him !
You might struggle to get to the flange bolt, being above the alternator and below the intake.

You might get in from above if you take out the expansion tank ( it slides upwards)

That’s really helpful thanks. With the engine out it looks so much easier but as it’s not its still worth a try so I’ll give this a go tomorrow. 😊😊
