From here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-1156-P21W ... 48559b1ab4
ebay search: White 1156 P21W Ba15s 27 5050 SMD LED Brake Tail Turn Signal Rear Light Bulb 12V
I tried the 54 SMD but the SMDs were smaller and these were actually brighter

Re: MR2 LED install
different bulb layout to mine but they should work - I will say don't waster your time with the signle CREE bulbs as the bulbs sit in vertically!

Re: MR2 LED install
I managed to order a couple of LED bulbs (White 1156 P21W Ba15s 27 5050 SMD LED) like you have but they dont look anything like as bright as yours do. The one on the left is a normal bulb and the one on the left is an LED one. Ive turned round in the bulb holder and its not made any difference. Have i done anything wrong?

Re: MR2 LED install
Just done mine and even in daylight you can tell they will give out more light.
Blue white light as apposed to the off yellow incandescent bulbs in as standard.
Nice one and so impressed now looking to upgrade to LED stop and signal LEDs.

Re: MR2 LED install
Are you planning on using coloured LEDs or white? White LEDs give out much more light than coloured LEDs, meaning brake and indicator LEDs need to be significantly better if using coloured bulbs. My experience is that red 5050 LEDs simply aren't anywhere near good enough in the brake lights... I'd like to try some Cree LEDs in my tail lights, although they're £30 a pair.peteV6R5 wrote:Nice one and so impressed now looking to upgrade to LED stop and signal LEDs.
I made a comparison video a couple of years ago to show that the 25W 5xQ5 Cree bulbs are about the lowest spec coloured LEDs that are actually good enough to replace filament bulbs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-GGXAmoXyA
What I don't know is what happens if you fit 5050 white LEDs behind coloured lenses. I would expect putting white LEDs behind a red lens would result in a pink look. No idea about putting them behind orange indicator lenses, although fitting any LED bulbs in the indicators will require an LED flasher relay.

Re: MR2 LED install
For the record, if I were to try any LED bulbs behind the stock lenses, they would be these (or similar):
Brake / tail: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291191541746
Rear indicator: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161356504588
I have a pair of these in my front, crystal indicators and the SW guys keep commenting on how bright they are: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161368012530
