New suspension for mk2 turbo!

Post by BlackNonTurbo »

Hi people. I'm getting back into the mr2 scene and recommissioning my turbo, currently at the suspension stage and need new shocks due to leaking. What are your suggestions? Thanks

I went BC coilovers and never regretted it.

I went for stock genuine Toyota shocks with lowering springs and can't complain. Originally thought to buy coil overs but changed my mind. If one will develop leak then it will be harder to buy a single replacement.

I’ve had all types of setups, coilovers, adjustable dampers, stock, etc and the best I’ve had is brand new yellow bilstein shocks and apex lowering springs

What sort of costs we looking at for that setup in parts these days?

Was a while ago. I think a set of 4 new yellow bilstein shocks were just shy of £800 so with springs, top mounts and drop links it’s over a grand

I love my HSD HR Mono-Pro coilovers. Sure, on a rutted road at slow speed they're harsh but you wouldn't know the difference on most roads between them and stock for comfort :th:

These coupled with a few other suspension mods (including polybushes) the handling is excellent.

I recently went for BC Racing RM series coilovers and it's like a completely different car. I also got the car polybushed at the same time.

Look to www.meisterr.co.uk made in UK, comfort and roadholding from coilovers, discount for members iirc.

They are a UK company, but the production is outsourced to Taiwan just like pretty much every other option in that price bracket. This is not a bad thing. This doesn't mean that they are simply a rebrand of something else either.

If they were actually produced in the UK they would be twice the price.
