Rusty Doors
1998 MR2 Mk2 Rev5 owned from new - Both doors have slight rust bubbling up at the bottoms. Have had then sanded down and re painted twice but rust being rust, it just comes back.
The used doors I found are all in worse condition than mine and unable to find any new door skins although would prefer not to replace door skins as it's probably expensive.
Rest of the car is really good. Already had new clutch, new sills, new oil pan and front suspension parts.
Any suggestions please?

Re: Rusty Doors
Unfortunately there's only one cure for rust, cut it out and replace with new metal, anything else is (as you have found) short term. You might be as well looking for a pair of good second hsnd doors, you might be lucky enough to find a pair in the right colour.

Re: Rusty Doors
+1 with Jimi on this, you can sand back, treat and paint so many times but in the end surgery is required

Re: Rusty Doors
Depending on how far gone the rust is, Patrick leaded the bottom edge of my doors to offer a little corrosion protection. Not a common skill these days
