I need help identifying what this red switch is on my MK2 MR2 (Japanese import)

I need help identifying what this red switch is on my MK2 MR2 (Japanese import)
When I bought the car, this red switch came with it. I have no idea what it does. When I flip it, a red light within the switch comes on but seemingly nothing else. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

If it's an import then the switch (it's aftermarket) is quite possibly for a rear fog light. Its required for ( and needs to be illuminated) for the MOT. JDM cars weren't fitted with rear fogs as standard.

In that position, rear fog is highly likely. You might need your sidelights (or even your front fogs) on for the fog light at the back to illuminate.
