5sfe or 3sfe?

Post by Mattrowden1// »

I've just bought an knackered mk2 with an engine swap in it. Can't tell obviously whether it's a 3sfe or a 5sfe. Are there any obvious signs to look out for to differentiate between the two? Whilst I'm sure there may be some commonality amongst parts, it would be nice to know what engine I have. All stickers have been moved and the vin no. Says that it's supposed to to be a 3sge, although I can tell it isnt.

Very doubtful it's. 5S-FE, that was a 2.2lt engine fitted to USA spec MK2's, could be a 3S-FE Check this post for help identifying it https://www.mr2oc.co.uk/forum/41/162539.html
Black is not a colour ! .... Its the absence of colour
