Engine won’t run
Took the car for a spin and it drove well. Half hour later went to go out in it and it won’t start, really rough turn over. Garage has replaced the distributor cap, rotor arm ,plugs and leads with no difference. Garage suggest it has thrown the cambelt a cog.
The small bit in the centre of the cap had snapped off. He thinks this caused it.

Re: Engine won’t run
The small bit in the centre of the cap would not make the cambelt jump, I would be looking at the distributor itself !

Re: Engine won’t run
That's fairly unusual with MR2's, can't say I've heard of that happening. Good that you got to the bottom of it and it's sorted

Re: Engine won’t run
Only problem I have now is a blowback through the air filter just as turbo kicks in

Re: Engine won’t run
Be worth rechecking the cam belt & ignition timing, are there any fault codes ?
