Roof Drain Gutters

Post by Microgod »

Evening all.

I have a large swimming pool forming under the rear bin and in the passenger foot well.

After particularly heavy rain fall it even knocks out the power steering. I took the interior apart to investigate/clean and a suing it was blocked drains I headed there first. Unfortunately it turns out that the material gutter that guide the water in to the drain has split along its whole length. I have a tempted to patch repair but it's so brittle that it just comes away in your hands.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement and if possible the part number???

Thanks in advance :)

I had exactly the same problem. Not being mechanically capable (code for utterly incompetent), I was fortunate to find a soft top specialist in the local area.

He had a root around and confirmed quite quickly that it was the drain pockets. He called them 'Soak aways' but it was clear what he was referring to. The item noted in the diagram on the link above indicates the right part and the price quoted in the link above is what I paid. Labour was tough but it fixed the leak.

Just trying to dry the old girl out now.

I know what you mean when you say brittle, I saw them coming out and they were just coming apart in his hands as he removed them.

If only I could have got it sorted in the SCORCHINGLY HOT SUMMER it would be dry as a bone now. Hey ho.
