Coolant leak

Post by Jim_jiminy »

Hi I just bought a 2000 jap import mr-s on ebay.

Is my first MR2 and I really am so into it. This is my first week of ownership but the coolant is leaking from below the drivers door.

I topped it up and happened again. I used some coolant system repair fluid in expansion tank and has stopped it for now, but I want to replace the part that is causing the leak.

Any ideas? Pic attached of leak area.

Many thanks.

1. DONT USE THAT STOP LEAK CRAP!!! It will just block your system and water ways and with the engine being in the back, the coolant system is crucial!

2. Im not a mk3 owner but as the layout of the engine is the same as the other mks then im guessing there is coolant lines running the length of the car and id say one of these is leaking. Take the covers off and have a look!
