High Idle speed

Post by ChrisAllroad2.7t »

Hi everyone. This may have been answered before and if it has i apologise. I have recently purchased a 2001 Mr2 roadster and I am having trouble with the idle speed. It is currently around 1800rpm. I have cleaned the throttle body and iscv which seems to make no difference. This evening I removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it as well. The The main catalyst is brand new. Whatever I seem to adjust will not bring down the idle to a sensible speed. Any thoughts?

Hi. I have fixed the problem with the high idle speed today. It was the iscv that was the problem. I had previously removed and unseized it. Took it off again and there was some carbon debris stopping it rotating. Cleaned it again more thoroughly, then put it back. Car now idles perfectly.
