ECU tester please
Hello
Can anybody direct me towards a company that can test a MK3 ECU with a view to repairing it.
I've tried:
ECUtesting
ECU Doctor
Camco Automotive
ATP Electronics
and drawn a blank with all of them.
ATP even went as far to say they doubt anyone in Europe can do this!!
An auto electrician examined the car today and has acertained the ECU has triggered the immobiliser therefore isolating the injectors.
Many thanks if anyone knows where to go
Regards
David

Re: ECU tester please
Is it not the other way round ? i.e. the immobiliser signals the ECU ? Has it been ckecked for fault codes ? Have you tried Mr T ? (your local Toyota dealership)

Re: ECU tester please
I don't know, my knowledge stops at carbs and points
I do know that the auto electricians equipment could not connect to the ECU despite it having power, therefore no error codes. We know the immobiliser has isolated the injectors
If ECU can not be tested or repaired then I suppose option is replace ECU, immobiliser and ignition switch and I don't know if that's worth it considering the value of the car.

Re: ECU tester please
Is it an import? if so then a normal OBDII code reader will not connect, you need a JDM one for that.
