Help with my roof...

Post by Almitch1 »

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post as I got my project car today and it’s my first ever MR2!!!

It’s all pretty good however the roof round the drivers window is great I have tried to attach a pic hopefully it’s attached.

Dos anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks

Alan

Hi Alan,

You've not managed to attach a pic but am going to hazard a guess.
The common fault is the cable that runs around the outside of the window frame wears and fails over time meaning the hood splits and hangs out of it's groove in the roof frame.

If this is it, you have (2) options..
1 - buy a replacement used spare off ebay or forums (it is not too challenging to swap)
2 - Take it to Jack Smiths in Swansea for a retrim (others are available but have used this guy :th: )

Hello,

The cable is exactly what has failed. I will look at getting a replacement.

Thanks
