My New Install
I got bored and redid my install so I could refit the space saver
This is the old set up
Here is my new frunk board made from alloy chequerplate
The 3 way door builds
New fibreglass enclosure
Behind the passenger seat
And a cover over the amps with neons under it

Thats a really nice install, love the cover for the amps in the frunk.
What speakers are you using in the doors?

Re: My New Install
Thanks I have already changed it hence the Kenwood sub and the enclosure is up for sale as I have a different sub and box now lol.
I am using Vibe SEK60 mid bass and tweeters with Blaupunkt mid range via Kenwood KPXF800 3 way crossovers (which have phase switching for mids and tweeters) I have made up 20mm spacers and only cut the plastic out to show them off.
Here is a night time view of the cover.

Re: My New Install
what are you gonna do when you get a flat? do you have to remove the strut brace to get the cover off?

Re: My New Install
Yes the Juran strut brace has to come out which is only 2 bolts but I am more concerned about where I could put an 8x17 rim with a flat tyre in the car ? ?dansrev2turbo wrote:what are you gonna do when you get a flat? do you have to remove the strut brace to get the cover off?

Re: My New Install
Easy, join up with a recovery service and leave the space saver at home. Weight saving and you get to keep your amps or get one of those Weld tyre things

Re: My New Install
Glad somebody understood me I can imagine telling my passenger to walk while I put the wheel on my recaro I have RAC cover but the RAC AA etc will not come out if you haven't got a spare thats why I redid my install to put the spare back in. I do have a can of tyreweld in the boot but the tyre fitters hate trying to clean it out of the tyre before they can plug the tyre .dgh938peg wrote:But not with his amps there mad1 means Dan!

Re: My New Install
As I have already said I have removed the Kenwood sub and enclosure to fit a Kicker S10L5 sub in an Auto Acoustics enclosure which I purchased off a club member who said it was dual 2ohm voice coils, as it wasnt sounding very good due to the box flexing I stripped it to find split mdf on the baffle and 3 screw holes in the top I then added a few layers of fibreglass then sound deadened it, then I realised it was a twin 4ohm sub ! So I have gained nothing so it will be up for sale.
I took the car to a local sound off and recorded 128.6 db on a termlab.
Here is a pic

Re: My New Install
I have since upgraded my charging system other wise known as the big three (TB3) which comprised of me adding an extra 4 gauge cable to the alternator going to a fuse in the boot then down through the car to a circuit breaker in the frunk then to the battery to try and keep the voltage up I already had 2 extra 4 gauge earth wires from the battery to the body and have added extra earths from the engine to the body which has all helped.
Now I am just waiting to fit my new sub box .
Then my next job will be to move the amps I think ?
