At least you're getting recognition on here for your writing.
Poe and Kafka had to wait until they were dead before anyone took any notice.
It's the choice of subject matter. If you write about clouds and flowers then you just have to expect that you'll have to wait a few centuries to build up a fan base!
TonyleFrog wrote: Doing one in a car with 'issues' is hardly representative though.
All my cars have issues!!

TonyleFrog wrote: 1) Sheesh - not that turbo myth again.

There have been many N/A pilots over the years.
Gazz/DaviesL/PeteJ/Psyken/d-peg/Gltd_simon/Great White
Do they still own said NA or did it expire in a cloud of what used to be engine parts???

TonyleFrog wrote: 2) There will definitely be at least one with a later start during 2015.

So that excuse won't wash.
You didn't ask how I define "early"! :)

Perhaps not, but she's got her makeup on, stood on the stage and has the sheet music to some of Ranmstein's finest unrolled in front of her!

The N/As do just fine. The roads limit your speeds, not the car - there are some fun (translation - potentially dangerous) cambers to be navigated in places.

It's worth coming for the 9am breakfast alone - and it gets you up early to have a productive Sunday...

Your NA would!! :)

Mine is booked in for a good look over at Stu's, just to make sure that it doesn't fail the same test that the blue one did. Once I know that I've got four wheels firmly attached to my wagon then I'll consider it..

Poe couldn't be further from clouds and flowers!
The master of mystery and the macabre (as well as being the originator of detective fiction).
_Al_ wrote:All my cars have issues!!
What's wrong with your n/a?
Other than a wing with a colour mismatch...
_Al_ wrote:Do they still own said NA or did it expire in a cloud of what used to be engine parts???
Gazz: sold his and bought a MX5 then moved on to a S2000.
DaviesL: bought by Psyken.
PeteJ: bought Mark Thorpe's Mk3, finally broke the M2, then sold the Mk3 to MRturboTom.
Psyken: see above, then he bought a turbo and the n/a just sat around until he scrapped it.
d-peg: went the V6 route.*
Gltd_simon: sold it.
Great White: still got it (see his recent thread).

* I forgot Foxystuff: she bought Paul Nowak's 10th Anni.

PeteJ and Gltd_simon have defected to Germany (Boxster and 911).

If you can't get out of bed in time for lunch there really is no hope.

The mike isn't on and she's got laryngitis... ;)
Btw have you seen the film Lost Highway?

I knew I should have google'd those poets before replying! :)

As best I know there's nothing wrong with the NA other than the colour mismatch on the wing and the fact that the AC doesn't work - but as I said in this thread, it's the best car I've ever driven!

I've never seen "Lost Highway" - I thought it was the name of an album..?

So no 'issues' then?
_Al_ wrote:I've never seen "Lost Highway" - I thought it was the name of an album..?
It's both, but completely unconnected to each other.

You're probably thinking of Bon Jovi - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0slRE1-g1Q

Jon Bon Jovi described it as 'influenced by Nashville' which is no surprise given that the original song with that title was written over 65 years ago by Leon Payne and recorded the year after by the great Hank Williams Sr - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCgicPdsxxg

I was referring to the film directed by David Lynch.

That was the big one. :th:
Quite a roll call there (in no particular order).

Past masters:
topgun
Bakerman
DaviesL
jcurtis
david.hanagan
ian_106
Gazz
MrMarf
PeteJ - in this section because he has defected...

Current:
kentsmudger - the only Mk3 and his first meet as well
Gaz! - all the way from Ipswich!
jimGTS - in his very recently acquired Rev 5 turbo
andyroo
Mark & Lyn
TLF

And last but not least...
MRturboTom - with his exploding brown sauce bottle!!

Apologies to those I have left out/not recognised from the pics of the cars/people.

Those glory days are long gone now.

I still maintain, despite my 2 now being awesome in its present guise, that as an NA it was the better road car. Especially for our roads.

There has always been a little niggle at the back of my mind that your car somehow seemed vaguely familiar. I ought to have made the connection as soon as I saw the pics in Pete's link.

The bodykit and the number plate placement are the obvious clues.
In my defence it was over 6 years ago!

No defence Tony, I've owned the car for over 5 years now! Haha

I'd also like to point something out. You say I've never been on a Kent run. However these photos clearly prove the opposite. I'm actually in several. [emoji14] Including this one...
