I read that there was a 5 mile tailback to the entrance.

A mate of mine went and stayed at the travel lodge over night, took him 30 mins to get in from 7.45am. Nothing ran up the strip all morning due to the weather, they spent all morning trying to dry it out. There were a couple of film cars there but not that many. No actors from the film made it.

Some rich bloke from Dubai who was a friend of Paul's few 3 of his Aventadors over to display and turned up in a Mclaren P1. Apparently it was a really good day with stupid amounts of modified cars in the car parks, gutted I didn't make it.

So some of the money went to charity but how much did Santa Pod make out of it?

Yet taking Rach to Japshow last year touting it as a bloody brilliant event, loads of cars, loads of stands, loads of people camping there was basically us (MR2OC) and 3 other clubs. it was sh1t. This is from someone who has always loved Japshow.

Hence my cynicism - Santa Pod jumping on the back of someone's death to predominantly make money for themselves and a little on the side for charity. Obviously Santa Pod were not the only place to do this sort of event I am sure.

Agreed, Japshow (& Japfest) weren't brilliant last year. I'll be going again this year but mainly for the drag strip due to requests for a race or 2 :)

There are some videos on YouTube of the strip action, not seen anything on the actual show though. I'm sure it'll be covered in various magazines next month.

My friends that did go seemed to of only taken pics of their own cars there that day :laughing . Seemed to be a massive 'cruise' style turn out. Apparently lots of sheds and a few show cars.
Not seen any proof of otherwise atm

Hmm. Sounds like Japfest 2012. At least that was warmer weather plus plenty of other OC members to banter with.

Probably a lot less than you seem to think. See below.

Santa Pod provided the use of their facilities free of charge.

I have no reason to doubt the veracity of Darren Bull's statement.

A bit naughty of you Dan, not bothering to check first.

Unfortunately the street racing/cruise scene seems to have a disproportionate share of idiots - http://wonderfulengineering.com/fan-blo ... ul-walker/
That Scottish t**t's personal tribute achieved his 15 minutes of fame in the media both down under and the USA.

As another Scot put it rather well - "I'm oot."
