Scots wha' hae 2's (no.3) - Sat 10th Sep 2016

Well, I've been too busy this year clocking up NB miles going to other peoples' events that I'm not going to manage to organise another event before September. Thus, I'm taking the opportunity to flag up the next Drumlanrig day.

Basically it'll be the same as last year but we'll do the routes in reverse, so doing a bit of copy/paste from last year's info.

Meet 10.30 for 11.00 at the café in Sanquhar, then a run out on a couple of nice roads in the area.

Meet again 12.30 for lunch at 1 at Drumlanrig Castle. The castle itself will be closed but the grounds & café are open.
Now.... I'll need a few votes on what you'd like to do at the castle. The grounds & gardens are beautiful & worth a walk round as we did last year. Or, if there's enough interest I could organise a tour of the castle itself.

Lunch + castle tour will be £17.50 each & lunch + access to gardens is £13.50. Let's get numbers quick please as I;ll need to book the castle tour in the next couple of weeks I reckon to avoid it being booked up by other parties. Lunch is a simple but tasty cold buffet.

Another drive out say 3pm in the afternoon after a look at the castle/castle grounds. We'll have a stop half way round the afternoon drive where some from further south may wish to peel off home. Otherwise, we'll finish the run & have dinner at a pub or bistro at the end

So fairly flexible too for those who are coming from further afield - you could come for both drives or just the morning or afternoon drive. (Details of routes will be pm'd).

The roads are absolutely terrific for the MR2 as last years attendees confirmed in the aftermath of last year's trip.

Sign up below if you're up for it :D

Note - last year was only mr2roc but since the Highland Drive was such a hoot, opened up to mr2oc too :th:

If a plastic Vauxhall is allowed then a Mk2 MR2 should be kosher... ;)

Oui! :)

Followed by a 5 day tour of the Highlands.
Spending time going to places I don't get to see on the HD.

Does this price include the car and passenger or does your designated passenger have to pay the same £££'s as well?

It's per person I'm afraid & looks like it'll be lunch & gardens only as they've put a minimum cost on the castle tour of £300 so that would be a minimum of 25 people to keep the cost down.

So £13.50 each includes lunch & access to the gardens - not bad as it's a really nice buffet lunch.

Can't make this now as car failed it's MOT on a couple of things and I'm taking it off the road till next summer to replace everything possible underneath the floor pan.
