Quick tyre size check
Just a quick one guys....
Getting new tyres sorted for the Blitz wheels and sticking my neck out and putting the Hankook Ventus V12 tyres all round as I've very good experience with these.
Wheels are a 7J front and 8J rear, will these tyre sizes work? I'm about 95% certain they will but just want a double check
Cheers

Jay on those wheels you could go 215 front and 245 rear

Re: Quick tyre size check
This is true Pete, in fact that table is about perfect for what I need
Judging by the fact the 245 is a great fit on the 9J ns2, I think it will look a bit bulbous on the 8J. The 215 might be a bit better of the 7J but I would want as much stagger as possible.
I think I'll be going for the 205/235 route for these

Re: Quick tyre size check
I'd run 205/45 front, it makes quite a difference in ride quality.
You get a sharper turn in on the 40, but feels less understeer once pushed on the 45.
One thing to note is the v12s have been superceded with v12 evo 2s.
The first are very good and made in Europe, Hungary iirc and the later are made in China!!
Might not be the 2s, I'll have to check, but all of them coming through of late have been Chinese made like their lower budget range.
Normally their flagship models are European made.

Re: Quick tyre size check
OK OK.... I never take the time to explore tapatalk properly.... They seem to change it every week so I just stick with the bits I know
The 245's on the 8J's are a surprise actually.... I have them on the 9J's and they don't look that different..... Hmmm.
Interesting about the Evo2's Tom.... I'll have to do a bit of research. If they are pants it's a real shame as the original v12's were a great tyre. On the flip side, I can't seem to find a site which lists all the available sizes for each tyre all together to make a selection for all 4 tyres. Does anyone know of a site that gives me that info?

Re: Quick tyre size check
Bear in mind that actual measured widths vary a little between different tyre manufacturers / models. My old Kumho KU31's were 225/50R16, but they came up quite wide to the point where I was having clearance issues on the rear arches on an 8J, offset is around ET35. The replacement T1R (with a smaller profile) was noticeably skinnier even though it was a 225.MR2Jay wrote: The 245's on the 8J's are a surprise actually.... The Vred's are supposed to be very good for the money. Interesting tread pattern too!
