Rev2 UK and import
Hi everyone , here to rest your knowledge yet again , I have two rev2's and what I want to know is are the wheel hubs slightly different between the UK and import (turbo) as my nice shiny 17" alloys from the import fit on the UK car but my standard ones from the UK won't fit over the hub on the import?! In which case should I be using the 17's on the UK one if the hole is slightly larger and doesn't fit snug to be hub?
Thanks again
Ashley

Same size as far as I'm aware. 60.1mm. Check a spigot ring hasn't been left on the hub.

Re: Rev2 UK and import
As far as I'm aware the MR2 hub and wheel is interchangeable on all cars.
I think there's a difference ABS / no ABS but I'll be surprised if that stopped you swapping wheels.
I could imagine corrosion on the hub causing the stock wheels to not swap over - happens with Fords all the time but I've never seen it with Toyota.
I've certainly swapped both stock and alloy wheels between a UK rev 3 and a JDM turbo rev 3 with no problems at all.
Thinking about it, Stu raises a good point on the spigot rings. You could also look at the condition on the hub itself, if it is out of round at all (can't think how you could damage it, but car mechanics are an inventive bunch!) then the wheel won't go on.

Re: Rev2 UK and import
Yeah ok I'll nip to the garage and a couple of pics because I don't really want to be driving the car if the 17" aren't designed (bearing in mind they are aftermarket ones that came with the import)
Thanks for the speedy responses guys

Re: Rev2 UK and import
All revisions uk and import have the same centre bore size, like Stu says a spigot ring stuck on the hub seems the most likely, if not just try cleaning it up

Re: Rev2 UK and import
That's a spigot ring:-). Only needed for non-standard alloys with a larger hole.

Although it is stuck on tight any suggestions on how to get it off without damaging it?

Re: Rev2 UK and import
Flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet. But it'll probably be knackered anyway. Looking at that hub face it needs a good wire brush anyway to clean all the surface rust off as well.

You'll need a thin flat screwdriver to get behind it and try and lever it off. Work your way around it. Some penetrating oil may help.
