Wheels MK2 different revs

Will the rev 2 wheels be suitable for my rev 5 and will the centre caps fit? I want to keep the look as authentic as possible. Thanks in advance.

Rev5 centre caps on rev2 wheels? Is that what you are asking?

Rev2+ wheels will fit as they are the same sizes, just the style that changed.

Not sure how it will look authentic though, rev5 wheels would look more authentic on a rev5 to me.

Rev5 wheels are very different to rev2-4 wheels, no, rev5 centre caps will not fit rev2 wheels.

Correct. You'll also need replacement wheel nuts. While the thread size and seat type are the same, the Rev2-4 wheel nuts are much longer so that they sit flush with the wheel centre cap.

MrMR2 on ebay sells wheel nuts he calls 'rev2 to rev5' - rev5's are obviously quite different. For a 'specialist' who sell so many parts I find their answers really vague bordering on misleading. Not to mention the rust described as 'surface rust'
