thanks

i think the run behind the evo was actually my quickest lap even with being held up slightly by the civic approaching the last corner and a slow esses to paddock entry. just a shame i couldnt quite get the hang of that 'esses area, it was very bumpy, i think i needed to approach it more wide, as thats where he lost me in the end and i ended up short shifting into 4th there. still a 1.26-ish isnt too bad with that in mind and the early braking worries on my first ever track day experience.
is very hard to get a full lap without some traffic anyway understandably, but i was pleased i firstly didnt have any incidents, and of course had fun!

only shame with the video is i struggled to get comfortable in the cabin with the helmet on so had to remove the tbar, which in the end meant lots of wind noise which is a shame (and of course additional drag  ). i should have popped the cover over the camera though to help with the wind noise, dam.

Does your action cam have a jack for an external microphone? You can get some great sounds by placing the mic on the engine cover (lots of induction noise / turbo wooshes), or you can run it to the boot to get mainly exhaust noise. Both placements cut down on the wind noise immensely.

Nice one Jim. :clapping:

Gutted that I wasn't able to see you in my rear view mirror. ;)

Got a couple of trackside pics instead... :)

It is a hks, but to be fair, I'd almost go as far as saying im running no bov. I have it wound so tight that's it's barely releasing any air.

If your talking about near the beginning, I was simply expressing to the Honda guy that he shouldn't be over overtaking where he is, you arnt allowd to overtake around the major corners. He probably didn't see expressing me this anyway.
Its the reason I pulled in behind the other slower Honda at that bend instead of doing the same.
Was silly to do especially when he knows Id just overtaken him on the straight, and then I had to overtake him again a couple of corners later.

Same with the evo, you can't overtake in the breaking points there and sneak up on the inside. Though that probably gave me a bit more spirit to push the car harder, ha.

Nice Jim, looks like you've got the car pretty much dialled in. Good to see you steaming past the Hondas, always satisfying :)

One man's braking point is not necessarily the same as another's. The majority of people brake far too early. For anyone who doesn't believe this, get an instructor to drive your car while you occupy the left hand and prepare to be amazed.

That said, at Japfest it's always better to be cautious than a wannabe BTCC hero.

Still :annoyed: about that 1db. Next year I'll have to remove the Nur Spec and refit this.

I'm trying to find a quieter replacement, not for the new one, but so I can track my current one before I say bye bye to it!

I can recommend the Departure Pro, great noise and look but not too loud
