had a brilliant day, shame i couldnt speak to more folk, i got so addicted to the drag strip, gob smacked really how much i enjoyed i, wanted to keep on going on!!!
time for some 15s and learn to launch properly, pmsl!!!

best time i got was a 12.88 at 116.5mph, rest were 13.0s, 13.1s at 110-117mph. and the odd couple of slower times.

need to sort out my launchs, i couldnt get ANY grip what so ever! 60fts were 2.4-2.5s
also youll note i left the line pretty late, i wernt fussed on my reaction times.

lol girlfriends and the pod, at first it sounds like a great idea to them , nice outing until they realise they have to sit and film you forthe whole day.

I have plenty of wobbly videos and girly convos from previous sessions. Looks like your reaction times are a little off jim, i reckon you could get much quicker. Did you lower the tyre pressure at all?

Reaction times arnt a concern (don't count towards your time), it's the launchs, lol.
No idea why it's so slippy compared to the road.
It's my 60ft times that wernt ideal.

I plan to go back soon with some drag radials or r888s on the spare 15s I have.

I'm trapping terminals which should see me in the late 11s, just need that launch right.

Given me a hunger to get into it tho!! My next goal! 120mph terminals, and an 11 something on pump gas. No meth, no NOS, no more power or boost! Just some decent tyres!

you don't need R888's Jim,i was running on some worn out nexen's,it's just down to having some flex in the sidewall so the tyre can deform under load and give maximum grip,that's why your best off with some 15's for drag runs.

Jim - it's so slippy because of the surface of the track. Road Asphalt is designed to maximize grip with poor tyres in the dry & the wet to keep Mrs 86 year old granny on the black stuff in her clio, the Pod surface is smooth and has nowhere for moisture or standing water/damp to run-off.

It's always a trade off between cold/hot temps at the Pod, cold weather is great for intake temps but the glue doesn't get you very good traction, yet a hot day will get you great launches but your terminal times may drop due to heat-soak.

You definitely have a car that can get into the 11's IMHO - you just need some sticky rubber and a slightly warmer day. It didn't help any of the times on the day the fact a lot of bikes were running as more cars would probably have warmed up the track a little more.

And as Steve said - you need some flex in the rears to give traction when launching - 16's would be a max if you are gunning for 11's
