Repairing a buckled wheel

Post by pekwah1 »

Hi guys,

Well it's not exactly buckled, but the wheel rim is bent inwards slightly....

Just wondered if anyone knows if i could repair this myself with a block of wood and a large hammer?

What method would a proper wheel repairer use to sort it out?

Hopefully you can kind of see the bend from these pics:

Cheers,
Andy

Even if you could use a hammer and block you would probably fracture the wheel if you are not careful.

Something like that is definately repairable but I would suggest you get a quote done. The wheel needs to be stripped, heated, repaired back to shape, examined for straightness and then repainted.
