Dales & Peak District Run 25/3/12 Pics page 11+!
This will involve a meet up at Carsington Water at 11am where there is a Visitors Centre on the shores of the Reservoir so you can meet up earlier for a walk around if that's your thing.

We will leave at 11:30 for a drive around and into the Peak District (details added to this post in the near future), taking in some of the lesser used roads to avoid any potential traffic. The drive should take between 90 minutes and 2 hours and covers approximately 50 miles. I will try and find some points to stop at for some good scenic backdrops to photo the cars.
The run will end up at the White Horse in Woolley Moor for a pub lunch at 1:30 No it won't, The Old Poets S45 0EW, Ashover, 2:45 - gives us plenty of time for pictures and stops.

There is a backup pub I have in mind that gets good reviews also in the next village, if we can't get in to eat for whatever reason:

So who's in then? I haven't added anyone who didn't already commit in the other thread, so copy and paste as usual folks if you want to attend.
Safety gubbins bit that must be said.
The drive will be a spirited one taking in some narrow moorland roads but speed limits, road conditions & visibility must be considered at all times. It is not a race and we are representing the club
There will be certain stopping points along the route for the convoy to re-group as we do have to cross a couple of major roads, but I will try and get the first and last cars with some walkie talkies to ensure we don't lose anyone.
This is going to be the route:

We pass through Hartington which is a really nice place I've stayed at before, there is a great cheese shop there right on the edge of the village green with ample parking. This will be a good stopping point, along with the avenue which is just before we hit Tissington.
For those with Sat Nav's the route from Carsington Water will be:
Destination - DE55 6FG via:
Tissington
Mapleton
Blore
Froghall
Ipstones
Hartington
Newhaven
Alicehead Road (Derbyshire)
Ashover

Ah, the day after the Wigan beer festival. Would letting you know on the morning of the drive how hung over I am be too late to tag along?
