Steam sales are great.
But it forces you to be online which meant when I had a power-cut last week, I couldn't just play the game cause I needed to foresee the power-cut and turn it to offline mode.
It is also a bit of a resource hog whilst you are playing a game, especially when I got Skyrim running with about 130mods.
My last hate of it, I inserted disk to install and it decided to download the whole game :facepalm:

I get on okay with steam, but then I was a very early adopter.
