It won't be much comfort madmr2man but I only got as far as meeting the lads at Warwick services. Got a hole in my rad :( Everybody chipped in trying to fix it with a limited tool kit (for 90mins!) but radweld wasn't enough.

Limped it home.

 Been looking forward to this for months and spent time/money getting the car ready. Guess you can't legislate for these things.

BIG BIG thanks to everybody who got stuck in to try and heal the wound.

Off to eBay now for a new rad.

I also didn't make it, but it was because I broke myself with beer the night before. Easily fix with tea and a much needed lie-in!

No worries guys, maybe you'll make the next one...

We managed to get to the services at exactly 10.30 to find Jono waiting by his car looking concerned. A close investigation later and it was found that his car had dumped it's coolant via a rather large hole in the radiator.
We tried in vain to get it to hold some vital fluids but unfortunately the hole was just too big. So sorry for Jono as you could tell he was gutted.

Sorry to hear of Madmr2man's woes too, I did a quick check on the OC to find out that he wouldn't be joining us.

So we set out an hour later than planned, and decided to do a shorter route to get to the pub in time for a little something to eat. We were down to 4 cars in total, Me, PeteV6R5, GoodwoodMR2, and Craig-rev3... we had a nice spirited drive through the countryside into the cotswolds that lasted just over an hour.

I think there will definitely be another one in the next couple of months.

Managed to get one on the Fosse:

I'd just like to say a big thank you to all that showed up, I had a great time and loved the driving and also getting to know some more of the good folk of the OC

Roll on the next one

Hope this run does not come to cymbalist a car or person breaker.
Ross - beer or cars what a choice
Mad - sorry mate was looking forward to meeting you.
TLF - sorry about the caliper (knew you were looking to get it fixed)
Jono - sorry about your rad - knew you had been looking forward to this run.

So the 4 remaining had a slow (caravans and Sunday drivers) start but then I suggested we went off route to Chris and down down nice back roads around Ilmington etc.
I few nice runs between some villages etc.
Finally into the pub.
Took Dave (GoodwoodMR2) out for a quick run in the V6 up fish hill. Then settled down to lunch.
So between getting stuck into Jono's water problem and taking Dave out in the V6 got home and found I only took 2 pics

Thanks for organising this Chris :th: It was a good drive and pointed out a few things to do on the car to improve it further.

Good to meet some more OC guys. Shame about the guys who had issues and couldn't make it, hope you guys get your issues sorted.

Hopefully see you all at Japfest in 2 weeks :th:

Totally spoilt my month! But was still great to meet you guys and I thoroughly look forward to seeing you all again. Hopefully I'll be less focused on mechanical woes and will actually take the time to say hello properly to everyone ;)

Great pics btw!

So, lets not lose momentum... When's the next one???...

P.S. Chris, do you want your chewing gum back? :laughing
