Re: Booking thread Travelodges
The reason for the high price is that the 17th is the start of the long Easter weekend.
I fear it won't reduce, so I'm seriously considering booking in a little way up the road here.

I can live with a shower rather than a bath. The £14 saved pays for a meal.
Easter may mean having to share our usually deserted roads with numpty tourists.

Re: Booking thread Travelodges
Are we all staying at the same place on the Thursday or are some heading to a different/slightly cheaper hotel? I'm not too fussed, just need to get the Thursday nights accommodation sorted. Glasgow to Perth on Thursday night gives me a chance to rest the car before the proper driving starts

Re: Booking thread Travelodges
Definitely. I have already done so (see below).ricky2 wrote:Are you for booking the cheaper one Tony I'd be temped to.
Current rates
17th April
Broxden Junction - £40
Perth A9 (just up the road) - £28
The latter has already gone up £2 since the last time I checked.
22nd April
Dumbarton - £29
I would seriously recommend anyone who hasn't yet booked their starting/finishing accommodation to do so pdq, because for the first time since I have been participating (beginning in 2009) the event coincides with the Easter bank holiday weekend. Prices are already going up and the trend is likely to escalate. Friday night might even get sold out.

Re: Booking thread Travelodges
It's possible, but I doubt it as it's the Easter break. If anything it will probably increase as time passes.PeteT wrote:Just booked both, Broxden and Dumbarton, I've been holding on for the prices to drop. This hasn't happened Sods law says that the prices will drop now
No way am I paying £14 extra for the privilege of an en-suite bath at Broxden!
A shower is quite sufficient, so my pit will be at the Perth A9 just up the road.
I'll have to be prudent with what I drink that evening though...
Senior moment. Room had been booked for the correct one.PeteT wrote:Tony, i think you have the wrong date here.TonyleFrog wrote: 22nd April
