What a great 5 days of driving/good company/laughter and banter Highlight driving day for me was Skye, the scenery and roads were fantastic. We were so lucky with the weather, only a short shower on Thursday but mostly unbroken sunshine The only negative was the amount of damage to the cars, mainly caused by the poor surface of the roads and of course the cars were driven hard. The driving standard from everyone was of a very high standard. my car ran faultlessly until the last 20 miles, which I found out next was down to a delaminating rear driver side tyre and a topmount on the same side
Me and Ann will get up next years booking thread up ASAP, and we look forward to seeing you all again for the 2016 HIGHLAND DRIVE

Nothing I can really add to what has already been said.
Another epic feat of organisation and great craic.
My favourite day was the northern loop to Durness and back.
The road to Lochinver is stunningly pretty - http://goo.gl/q5i8V5
Plus the challenging B689 to Unapool - http://goo.gl/z8ZUzx & http://goo.gl/fdyFB2
Probably the slowest two roads on the whole event.
The latter is a real test of driving skill with its twisty course and many blind corners.
Tongue to Lairg was a different kettle.
Jen thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and has asked me to pass on her thanks to all concerned. The journey back included much talk of driving lessons...
I have a sneaking feeling that leFrog and a tadpole might each be doing their thing on a future Highland Drive.

What can I say that has not been said previously, my thoughts on a magical mystery tour of the highlands make me want to find next year's booking thread. Thanks go to Ann and Bob for their organisation and Pete for ably guiding us around some wonderful roads and scenery.
Vehicles are just like a giant Meccano set and should not be feared, but respected

you probably did, we were based in Ullapool for sleep, food, and water for the majority of the drive... there would have been around 18 cars in convoyStevey293 wrote:Did i see you lot going south from lochinver towards ullapool? Excellent Pete
Now on the lookout for an entire suspension overhaul! I did enjoy the drive back from Durness too Tony, the coilovers seemed to love roads like that and try and kill me on other more bumpy faster roads. Best get that all sorted before I return! MOT to get through Thursday, and I'm not looking forward to it, despite a full (and expensive) check over before the HD

If you mean you were the one going south, then it's possible. We reached Lochinver via Badnagyle (on the road to the Summer Isles ) then continued onwards on the B869 to Clachtoll/Stoer/Clashnessie/Drumbeg/Nedd.Stevey293 wrote:Did i see you lot going south from lochinver towards ullapool? New one fitted today only 4 weeks wait
Now to put trim back on, new tyres on Thursday.
Take for a run to make sure new heater pipes from hell bypass are water tight (they were on static test).
So pleased to have my baby nearly back on the road - missed the noise and drive.
