EVO triangle area romp : west mids & north/mid wales

Post by ads2 »

We regularly drive awesome routes in the 'EVO triangle" area, not always including triangle itself, always brilliant roads - who's up for it? All types of cars welcome.

Typical run is start off from Oswestry then up over the mountains to Bala, deviating sometimes to west wales coast/EVO triangle/horse shoe pass ponderosa cafe etc

Camber changes, dips, yumps just brilliant fun. Not overdoing it always staying safe

So the guys are still raving about it now and champing at the bit to get out there once a month if we can - so who's in? north wales and west mids are nearest.

We're running it on a weekday as there's less traffic and already have some interest on IMOC see http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... 62#1645962

Any type of car welcome, next time I may take my classic Mini, or the '2 .. would be good to have a few off here, or anyone you know off other car forums?

cheers Adam

Hi Tom, thinking early December for next one. Set off at. 11am from Oswestry last time it was a Monday, half a day out really.

Appreciate a lot of people will struggle with weekdays but there is so much less traffic to woory about. Definitely worth taking a days holiday for :)

I've no holiday days left, I'd do it in the new year.

The total mileage for both loops is under 60, so could be done in a single run. If so, do the longer B4391 loop first. Re the Triangle, resist the temptation to put pedal to the metal on the long straights on the A5. Scamera territory.

I read that MX5 review and instantly thought of "the road" to base on the Highland Drive :D

Third time I did that was awesome. :th:

OK so our next run is friday 27th November

Starting at 11am from little chef car park by mile end roundabout on Oswestry bypass; the one with ESSO petrol station which marks junction between A5 and A483.

on google maps http://bit.ly/1Mt4wA7

If you can't make the 11am start, meet us at Betwys y coed Alpine Cafe for good food at 12.30 (cafe is by train station in Betwys) - we'll do the two sides of the triangle on our way back (A453 then back to A5 on B4501)

google map of triangle http://bit.ly/1Mt4XKU

Wanted to give people plenty of notice as its a Friday, I'm away on holiday from tomorrow morning until wed 18th nov so probably won't be back on forum before then - hope to see a few of you there !

Hi guys is this event still going?

I'm a former MR2 owner looking to get back into the fold. Would be great to get together with some of you and see your cars and just get back into club life whilst I find a car.

In the meantime I can bring my 370Z - should be a good match for some of those modified turbos... :)

Also can someone tell me how to 'follow' a topic? I can't figure out how!
