As a first time highland driver, I have a few questions.

1. What time are we leaving Broxden on Friday?
2. Should we bring a packed lunch for the Friday drive or is there a lunch stop booked?
3. I haven't heard anything on accommodation. Assume this is all booked & we'll get our allocation in due course?
4. Tom mentioned walky talkies? Any kit recommendations?
5. Are we all booked to eat together in the evenings or is it everyone for themself?

Reason for Q5 is i had a summer job in Lochinver a few (30+) years ago & wouldn't mind a wee trip back to see the Caberfeidh as it is now.

Hi Stewart

Hope this helps,
We intend leaving 9.30am on Friday morning
No pack lunch required as we will be stopping at either Glenlivit distillery or heather centre for lunch.
Your accommodation is booked, you are in a twin room from memory.
Walkie talkies are a must really. We got ours in lidl and they are very good. Check out the Internet. The most expensive isn't always the best. Rechargeable are advisable :th:
We all eat together in small tables of 4-6 people in the conservatory. If you want to opt out of a meal it's not a problem. The motel usually runs a tab and you square up at the end of your stay for food. Drinks are paid for at the bar. Your deposit comes off your final bill.

Any other questions just shout up :th:

Cheers
Ann

Ok guys, time is marching on and Friday will be here before we know it.

We intend to leave the Broxden at 9.30am and drive up to the Glenlivit distillery for lunch. There is a free guided tour for anyone interested. It lasts about 45mins.

http://www.maltwhiskydistilleries.com/D ... fault.aspx

If you'd like to go on this can you pop your name below and I can let the distillery know in advance.

From here we will head up to Nairn for a fuel stop then on to Ullapool.

Walkie talkies are recommended to keep in touch with other cars and in the event of someone becoming detached from the group -EXCLUDING TLF- so make sure you have spare batteries or charger.

Look forward to welcoming newcomers and meeting the old diehards :clapping:

Roll on Friday :th:

Looking at the forecast today, I reckon I've switched to the summer wheels too soon. Icebears back on Thu eve I reckon.

Should have listened to my granny - Never cast a cloot till May is oot.

& thanks for the clarifications Ann. Sorting out Wilkie talkies today so I'll likely have a spare to offer someone
