Door trim

Post by blanda »

Mr2 mk3 02 reg
I am trying to get the small piece of oval plastic trim which goes around the door handle (the door bar not the actual latch) on the inside of the drivers door.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Are you taking the door panel off?
Its been a while since I took one off but I think the only thing holding it in is the door pull so once you remove the rest of the panel fixings, that bit should slide out.
It shoudnt stop you taking the door panel off if thats your aim?

Hi, thank you for your reply and apologies if I have not made myself clear. I am not looking to remove the door panel. I have just bought the car and this bit is missing and it looks awful, so I want to get a replacement to make it look better.

Ah, I missed the point completely!

There are a couple of Mr2 breakers to try too if a new one is silly money, MR2 Roadster recycling (Dick Sloan) or Dean Rozier at Rutland recycling.

I don't think you are missing the point. I am new to all this.
I have bought my first MR2 about a week ago and need this part. I have been on Ebay and other sites and spoken to lots of breakers but have had no luck so far. During my search I found this site so thought I would ask for some advice from some more knowledgeable people.
I appreciate the recommendations.

Thanks Jimi, it does sound like the obvious place to start.
