No such thing, the MK1 & MK2 MR2's aren't OBD compliant

Not OBDII compliant, but they do have OBD.

Tool is OOS at the moment, I understand the chap is working on a new version.

Pretty sure they are not OBD as such, the MK1 uses TCCS (Toyota Computer Control System) pretty sure the MK2 does too

It is by definition, before OBD2 there was no standard method. Any system pre OBD2 where you can plug a machine in and read live data is OBD.

Yes, the ZF ScanTool was developed by Jean Francois Breton in Canada.

That would be ace.

It's the same with many small self-developed projects.
If you don't grab one while you can you risk missing the boat.
So you have to wait for a s/h one to come up on a forum/e-bay.
It took me over 3 years to get hold of one of Stef's delimiters.

How much information can you realistically get out of the old ECU that you cannot get with a paper clip ? Even my 2005 Subaru is missing half of what is obtainable today in a new car with my reader connected to it.

Lots, including RPM, throttle position, coolant temp, O2 sensor feedback, long term fuel trim, knock, ignition timing etc. Read the links posted above.

It is very slow, the update rate is only about once per second. Still, it is useful for diagnosing issues.
