Would that cause all the power to go off when I turn the key?

The Starter is the biggest drain on the Battery when you turn the key, so personally that would be my first port of call.

Re: MASSIVE PROBLEM, help needed please
Check the battery connections are clean and tight, I've had this exact problem before, battery power good, all systems go until I turned the key then.... dead! I changed out the old "censored" and damaged battery terminal clamp for a new one and the problem was immediately solved.
Alternatively it could also be an immobilizer problems. The fob on my daily MR2 (weirdly not related to the one above) plays up occasionally and does something similar to this (its becoming a bit of a worry!), it fails to start the car, basically clicks and nothing, but other systems (radio, lights ect) do still work. The fob used to be on a separate key chain and it used to be that as long as I had the immobilizer fob in the car it would work but over the past year it's been rapidly getting worse... Periodical I've had to move the fob closer to the immobilizer unit. Right now I have it taped to the key but I fear it's only a matter of time before it fails altogether.

There is no "it cant be done" only "I cant do it!"

What Chris said about the battery, what your experiencing are classic symptoms of a bad battery and,/or bad battery connections. You said "not battery" what leads you to conclude that ?

I had that when my battery cut-out worked itself loose at a trackday... or it was sabotage!

Again, battery.
I’ve had exactly the same problem with mine and it was the battery lead connectors needing replaced.

Well those are my principles, and if you don't like them... I have others.
