Unfortunately it's bad news.
The car has been in a front end shunt at some point. The bonnet, front bumper, driver wing are all replacement panels (badly painted, can see they used to be red before). The front clip has also been badly welded on from another car. Everything forward of the rear edge of the lights has been welded on from another car, badly. The lights were also replaced and the covers have been badly painted. The wiring has also been played with, presumably in an attempt to get it running. The +ve ring lead that goes to the starter post was bolted to the chassis. The gearbox ground is bolted in the wrong place. all the covers on the fusible links are broken (assuming they tried to remove them from the top without unbolting them from the bottom).
The back end rust has also been bodged. There was a sheet of aluminium plate, i think a data plate from a motor, siliconed over the rust holes into the boot from the rear arches. a quick tap and they came out in one peice along with the rest of the arch. Rear strut tops are dust on both sides.
Sills are shot, and the rust goes into the chassis rail.
Rear subframe would need some love.
Unfortunately it's not going to be worth enough at the end to justify the amount of work it needs. The interior is in excellent condition so that will be transplanted into another car. I may borrow the steering wheel for annie #19 because it's in better condition and just swap out the horn button.
Not really sure what to do with the other anniversary bits, ash tray and engine lid are serial number specific so not really useful for another annie. The kick plates may be useful to someone.
Gutted it's not saveable, but sadly someone else has ruined this car prior to me getting it. I'll get it running to see if the engine is useful, but other than that i think this is a parts car. :(
